The Lock 16 Café and Center provides a quaint, vintage setting with a focus on Illinois history. The Lock 16 Café offers healthy and seasonal cuisine, as well as vegetarian, gluten-free and vegan friendly options, all using fresh ingredients and prepared to order. The Lock 16 Café is located in the I&M Canal Visitor Center and open year-round. The Lock 16 Café serves breakfast and lunch and caters to all of our daytime and evening events in the I&M Canal Visitor Center and on the I&M Canal Boat. Start your day off with choices from our full breakfast menu. Sit back, relax and The I&M Canal Visitor Center presently has visitor information for sites throughout the national heritage area to help you plan your trip. Our map table is especially of interest to many. A story band and an 8 foot by 40 foot mural help tell the canal story. More exhibits are currently being planned for an unveiling for our 35th anniversary in late August 2019. Be sure to pick up brochures and visitor guides

Very nice atmosphere! Just beautiful. The entire staff there was helpful and friendly. Cute gifts for all ages! Lots if melissa and Doug toys.

Really nice cafe, food was great. Stopped in to get info on the I&M canal National Heritage Area, and to get a stamp for my passport. Nice map of the canal area and small gift shop. Everyone was really friendly.

A great historical and scenic experience! I definitely recommend. The staff are very interactive and welcome questions. I sincerely enjoyed it.

I'm not sure. The couple times I've been there, services have been okay. That's too bad that you were there on a day of bad experience. Sorry to hear that.

I was passing through so I didnt get a chance to go to the library. A picture and a short description in the building would be helpful to others like myself. Thanks!
